The DOD EMALL is a full service e-Commerce site with over 48 million items for registered DOD and Federal Government customers to find and acquire off-the-shelf items, finished goods, and services from the commercial marketplace and government sources.

  1. Visit the DOD EMALL website at dod-emall.dla.mil and log in using your user-specific ID and password. If you do not have a registered account, you must register before continuing to the next step of the ordering process. After registration, you will have access to search, browse, and purchase merchandise.
  2. Click on ‘Catalog Search’ at the top of the page.
  3. From the menu on the left, click on ‘Alphabetic’ under the ‘Supplier’ subsection, in the lower left corner in the ‘Refine Your Search’ section.

The Spy Coin

Silver Dollar Spy CoinIn January 2007, the U.S. Department of Defense issued a warning about a new espionage threat: spy coins. After it was suspected that Canadian coins carried across the border by American contractors may have contained tracking devices, Defense Department officials confirmed that this method of spying posed a legitimate threat to U.S. interests. In fact, in an official report related to the investigation, the CIA revealed that it had previously used hollow U.S. silver dollar coins to carry top-secret messages and film. (Photo courtesy CIA).
